Pngyu is a simple PNG image compression tool that allows you to batch compress multiple PNG files with just a few mouse operations, achieving significant file size reduction.

Pngyu uses pngquant as its compression engine, which is also used by ImageAlpha and TinyPNG.

Pngquant achieves compression by converting 24bit/32bit full-color PNG files to 8bit indexed color using an excellent color reduction algorithm.

※ Note: Compression involves color reduction processing, so it is impossible to restore the original image after compression.
Please make a backup in advance when compressing important files.

How to Use

It's easy to use.

  1. Launch Pngyu and drag & drop PNG files you want to compress into the Drop here area in the center of the screen.
  2. Click the Compress Start button at the bottom of the screen to start the compression process.
  3. By default, the input files will be overwritten.

Advanced Settings

  • If you want to change the output destination or file name after compression, change Output Option to Custom.
  • If you want to make detailed compression settings, change Compress Option to Custom.
  • Select a file from the list and click the Preview button to open a preview window where you can check the result of compression with current settings.
